Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came....
Well, after following it for two years, I finally finished Stephen King's Dark Tower series that had been unfinished for over thirty years, until this September. Anybody else read and finished the series? And if so, what do you think about the ending? Satisfied, pissed off, or what? King ends it oddly, but in a way that allows for a lot of discussion on several levels. I was a unhappy at first, but as I think about it I get happier and happier. Now, time to start "Operation: Pressure Darlos into reading the Dark Tower" so I can have such a discussion.... If anyone here besides myself has finished the series be sure to throw up a spoiler warning if you choose to say anything spoilerish.
For the uniniated:
The Dark Tower series is a fantasy book series by everyone's favorite horror pop author Stephen King. It stars Roland, the Last Gunslinger (a sort of gun wielding knight in this world), on his quest to find the enigmatic Dark Tower and to climb to the top room of it. The first book is called The Gunslinger and is really short and worth reading to see if you are mildly interested in the concept of the series. Have fun....
